DONETSK, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian aviation launched two rockets against the city of Donetsk in the east of the country, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
Both rockets landed in Budyonnovsk neighborhood of Donetsk. According to the preliminary information, a residential house was damaged. No victims have been reported.
The witnesses say that an hour prior to the rockets’ launch a scout plane flew over the city. The attacked area housings are bases of the self-defense forces.
In mid-April, Kiev launched a military crackdown on independence supporters in eastern Ukraine. According to the most recent UN report, the conflict has claimed the lives of more than 1,100 civilians, with nearly 3,500 injured.
Moscow has repeatedly condemned Kiev’s “war against its own people” and urged an immediate stop to the punitive operation, advocating a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
