MOSCOW, August 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree Wednesday, banning for a year imports of agricultural and food products from countries that imposed sanctions on Russia. The government is expected to announce the complete “black lists” of imports on Thursday. Below is the list of Russia’s major imports from the countries that imposed sanctions against Moscow.
UNITED STATES
Meat, including poultry, makes the basis of the imports from the United States.
CANADA
Among the Canadian goods imported to Russia are products of animal and plant origin, ready-made foods and drinks, fats and oils of animal and plant origin, and mineral commodities.
AUSTRALIA
Russia primarily imports frozen and refrigerated cattle meat from Australia.
JAPAN
Japan’s exports to Russia include frozen fish and seafood, milk powder, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as ready-made food products such as sauces, spices and soups.
SWITZERLAND
Swiss exports to Russia are primarily cereal and milk products.
UKRAINE
Russian imports from Ukraine include cocoa beans, cheese and other dairy products.
EUROPEAN UNION:
AUSTRIA
The Russian imports from Austria are mainly made of commodities, particularly crude rubber, certain types of chemicals, as well drinks and tobacco goods.
BELGIUM
The main Russian imports from Belgium include foods, particularly meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, baked goods and fats.
BULGARIA
Russia mainly imports grape wines, as well fruit and nuts from Bulgaria.
CYPRUS
Russia’s main imports from Cyprus include citrus fruit, fresh and refrigerated fish - the typical exports for the country.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Russia imports a range of food products from the Czech Republic, including fruit and vegetables, and various drinks. It also imports fats, oils and animal and plant wax.
DENMARK
Denmark supplies Russia mainly with dairy, poultry eggs, honey, meat and edible by-products, fish, shellfish and mussels.
FINLAND
Finland supplies dairy and meat products, coffee, tea, bread crops, feed crops, fish products, as well as vegetables and fruit to Russia.
FRANCE
The imports from France include animal products, chemicals and nitrogen products.
ITALY
Russia imports food products from Italy, especially grape wine, fruit and pasta.
LITHUANIA
Russia imports the following food products from Lithuania: cheese, cottage cheese, meat, animal feed, drinks, potatoes, canned beans, fish, and live pigs.
THE NETHERLANDS
Russia imports dairy, eggs, flower and cereal products, and live animals from Holland.
SLOVAKIA
Russia imports cattle and certain food products from Slovakia.
SPAIN
The main goods imported from Spain include frozen meat and by-products, fruit, raw and semi-prepared foods, citrus fruit, olives and olive oil.
UNITED KINGDOM
The United Kingdom’s exports to Russia include alcoholic beverages, frozen fish, cheese and coffee.
