KRASNODAR, August 7 (RIA Novosti), Tatyana Kuznetsova – Russia will simplify visa regime for foreigners planning to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix set to be held in Sochi, according to the press service of the governor of Krasnodar Territory, Alexander Tkachev, after the meeting of the Russian Grand Prix organizing committee.
Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix will take place at the Sochi Autodrom October 12.
The meeting of the Russian Grand Prix organizing committee was chaired by Dmitry Kozak, the Russian deputy prime minister.
“Russian Foreign Ministry has decided to simplify the visa regime for those attending the sports event, according to Alexander Saurin [vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory],” the statement said.
The Formula 1 racing circuit is expected to open August 10.
One of the races of the Russian Touring Car Racing, a test tournament for the circuit, will take place at the Sochi Autodrom September 13 - 14.
