UNITED NATIONS, August 8 (RIA Novosti) - The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will assess the situation in Ukraine on Friday, August 8, a representative of the press service of the United Kingdom’s permanent mission to the UN told RIA Novosti.
The UK is presiding over the UNSC in August.
According to Russia’s permanent mission to the UN, it will be an open meeting that will discuss a report on the situation with human rights in Ukraine prepared by the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Shimonovich.
Russia has previously criticized Shimonovich for nonobjective coverage of the situation in his reports.
