MOSCOW, August 8 (RIA Novosti) - RT in Spanish will show a day in the life of Uruguayan President Jose Mujica, often referred to as “the world’s poorest president,” in the third episode of its “One day with…” TV show, the channel’s press service said Friday.
“Our third series is devoted to the president of Uruguay, Jose ‘Pepe’ Mujica, who is often called ‘the most humble world leader.’ Viewers of our show will be the first to witness a closed session of the Uruguayan Council of Ministers. They will visit the president’s study and find out why he does not have and never will have a Twitter account,” said the statement.
According to the RT’s press service, viewers will also see the president’s farm in the suburbs of Montevideo, his 1987-made car and his three-legged dog, Manuela.
President Jose Mujica has been the leader of Uruguay since 2010, and is often described as “the world’s poorest president” because he donates almost all his salary to charities.
For the “One day with…” (Un día con…) TV show, its host Eva Golindger – the celebrated lawyer, writer and journalist – meets with the most outstanding political figures of Latin America. The president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and the president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, took part in the first two episodes of the show.
