MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - An agreement to establish an international university in China under the auspices of Moscow State University is expected to be signed on Monday in the city of Shenzhen, where the university will be built, according to sources.
The primary goal of the project is to train highly skilled professionals that will be in demand not only in Russia and China, but around the world. According to sources at Moscow State University, the admission to the international university will be open not only to the citizens of China, but to the students from the Russian Far East, Central Asia and other countries as well.
Subjects at the university will be taught in Russian, Chinese and English. Upon graduation, students will receive two diplomas – one of the international university, the other of Moscow State University. The students are also to do internships with the largest Russian and Chinese companies. The faculty will include the best Russian and foreign specialists.
China initially came forward with the proposal and in September 2013 a memorandum was signed by Moscow State University and Beijing University of Technology who is partnering with Moscow State University on this project that has been approved by both Russian and Chinese authorities.
The university is expected to welcome first 5,000 students in 2015. Before that, a pre-entry program will be available for those who wish to practice the Russian language.
