BOCHAROV RUCHEI, August 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will address Russian lawmakers and ministers in Crimea Thursday on a wide variety of issues, the president’s spokesman said Monday.

“Putin will make a speech rich in content,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

On September 14, Crimea is due to hold its first parliamentary elections since the republic’s reunification with Russia in March. According to Peskov, this issue will also be high on the agenda for Thursday’s address.

Following a regime change in Ukraine in February, citizens of Crimea refused to recognize the legitimacy of the government in Kiev and rejoined Russia after a referendum that saw over 96 percent of voters in the region back the motion to leave Ukraine.

Crimea officially became part of the Russian Federation on March 21, after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a reunification document into law.
