MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) – The “Fast and Furious” Air & Auto Show will take place during Oboronexpo 2014, the international defense exhibition taking place over the weekend, according to organizers.
“‘Fast and Furious’ show is an air versus auto competition that will see automobiles and aircraft racing along therunway at the airfield. A team of Russian and international motorsport stars challenged a team of fighter jet pilots in order to showcase the performance capabilities of modern technology, as well as their skill and professionalism,” the organizers of the show said.
The pilots will fly Yak-52’s, L-39’s and Yak-130 trainer aircraft, the MiG-29 fighter jets, and the Su-30 fighters among other planes. The drivers will use Ford Mustangs, Dodge Challengers, Nissan GTRs, as well as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, and Aston Martins to name a few.
The international Oboronexpo 2014 military technology exhibition is taking place in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, from August 13 to 17. The event involves more than 200 Russian firms and foreign companies from Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, India, China, the United States of America, France, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
The expo provides an opportunity for discussions and cooperation among industry moguls. The equipment and hardware showcased at the exhibition can also be seen in action at a range located at the exhibition site.
