MOSCOW, August 17 (RIA Novosti) – A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has occurred to the southeast of the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported Sunday.
The tremors were recorded around 16.06 GMT. The epicenter was about 565 kilometers southeast of the Ile Rodriguez. The earthquake origin was located at a depth of about 16.4 kilometers. There is currently no threat of a tsunami. No information about victims and possible destruction has been provided so far.
