MOSCOW, August 21 (RIA Novosti) - Western mass media, particularly in France, are not covering the war unfolding in Ukraine’s southeast, Guillaume, a Frenchman who recently joined the independence forces in Donetsk as a volunteer, told RIA Novosti.
“A very narrow group of our friends is aware that we are here,” said Guillaume, one of the four volunteers who arrived in southeastern Ukraine this week. “France has no idea we are here. France has no idea there is war in Donbas,” the volunteer said.
Guillaume stressed that the West is not reporting about the military activities unfolding in Ukraine.
“On the contrary, the Western media present Russia as an aggressor-country, as a country of terrorists. They say nothing about the war. Our presence will allow the French to receive first-hand information,” the volunteer said.
Guillaume added that the French volunteers will stay in Donbas Region as long as it takes to inform the French people about the events unfolding in southeastern Ukraine.
