DONETSK, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - As Ukraine marks Independence Day on Sunday, the morning started with an artillery salvo in the city of Donetsk, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
All the suburbs of the city have been shelled. No casualties or damage has been reported yet. Six people were killed Saturday during the attacks by Kiev forces.
On Sunday, Ukraine celebrates Independence Day by military parades.
Donetsk is not marking the day and will hold anti-fascist demonstration, a prayer, an exhibition of captured materiel, and militia parade instead.
