KIEV, August 27 (RIA Novosti) – Negotiations in the Belarusian capital Minsk are continuing in various formats and at various levels; during the talks Kiev intends to seize every chance to secure a peaceful settlement of the crisis in Donbas, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.
“The talks are not over yet, they continue in various formats. We started at 11:00 a.m. but everyone should be sure that we will lose not a single chance and use every possibility we have and even more,” Klimkin told Ukraine’s ICTV Channel late on Tuesday.
The minister was speaking from Minsk.
According to Klimkin, the discussion between Ukraine, the European Union and the Customs Union was very intense, but interesting, in particular when related to Kiev’s association with the European Union. Though, the minister stressed, the most important for Kiev now was to restore peace in Donbas.
“The key issue for us now is our aspiration for peace, for a democratic country,” he said.
