MINSK, August 27 (RIA Novosti) – The participants of the Customs Union-Ukraine-EU meeting in the Belarusian capital Minsk have had a candid dialogue, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.
“The Russian side has expressed its concerns and this position coincides with the concerns voiced by the other Customs Union member countries following Ukraine’s signing the Association Agreement with the European Union, as well as in light of economic consequences the ratification of the deal could trigger,” Makei said.
He gave a positive assessment of the meeting and stressed that the sides had held an open exchange of opinions on a range of issues.
“It was worth holding this meeting in Minsk just for the sake of Putin-Poroshenko meeting,” Makei added.
He also said that the Ukrainian president spoke in favor of boosting work between the Customs Union, Ukraine and EU.
