MOSCOW, August 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has relieved Russia’s ambassador to Poland, Aleksander Alekseyev, from duty, appointing Sergei Andreyev as the new envoy, according to the presidential decrees published on the official web portal of legal information Tuesday.
“…to appoint Andreyev, Sergey the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Poland,” the document reads.
Alekseyev became Russia’s ambassador to Poland in June 2010, previously holding the post of ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro from 2004-2008. The newly appointed envoy to Poland, Sergei Andreyev, previously represented Russia as ambassador to Angola from 1999-2002 and Norway from 2010-2014.
