MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) -A sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects has been arrested and charged with aggravated harassment after making a bomb threat over the phone to her boyfriend’s ex, CBS New York reported.
“Leave us alone. I know people who can put a bomb on you,” Tsarnaeva allegedly said, according to police sources quoted by the news site.
The woman who received the phone call reported the incident, which took place on Monday, to the police.
Tsarnaeva was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with one count of aggravated harassment. She was later released with a summons to return to court on September 30, CBS New York reported.
Tsarnaeva’s brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar, are suspected of planting two homemade bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line in April 2013, killing three people, and injuring 280.
The 26-year-old Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with the police a few days after the bombings. Dzhokar, now 21, was captured and is currently awaiting trial. United States Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the federal government would seek for him to receive death penalty.
