SELIGER, August 29 (RIA Novosti) – Politicians should be aware of their approval rating, but never count on it, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
“People who do what I do should be aware of it, they should take [approval rating] into account, but they should not count on it. I never count on it,” Putin said.
Meanwhile, the popularity of the Russian president with the Russian population continues to grow. According to the latest estimates, Putin had an 83 percent approval rating, with just 16 percent of Russians disapproving of his work as a president.
The approval rating of 83 percent is an improvement from 72 percent in March, which shows that the president’s popularity has grown since the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
Russia’s general policy is approved of by 60 percent of the population, who said they believe that the country is headed in the right direction. Putin is also the most trusted Russian politician in the country.
The Russian president is currently visiting educational forum Seliger-2014 – the 10th of its kind – where young people gather to discuss political and social issues.
