MOSCOW, August 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's President Vladimir Putin has received his highest electoral rating to date with 71 percent of Russians surveyed saying they would vote for him if a presidential election were held in a week, a poll by Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) showed.
The trust level in the president rose to 83 percent from the previous 82 percent. More than four-fifth of the respondents saw Putin's job as "good."
The trust rating for Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev remained stable at 64 percent.
The electoral rating of the ruling United Russia party reached 55 percent, up from 49 percent in May and 51 percent in July.
The survey took place on August 23-24, with 3,000 people polled in 204 tows.
