MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - International Information Agency Rossiya Segodnya is organizing a media conference in the Crimean town of Koktebel that will be attended by over 40 media experts, journalists and political observers from various countries and is scheduled for September 12 - 15.
“Under the conditions of sanctions and information war the role of interactions within the journalistic community greatly increases. It is especially important for us to directly communicate with journalists from the CIS countries, Georgia and other neighboring states, who represent independent media. Regardless of how much certain powers want to turn the media into an instrument of discord, we hope for a constructive and professional dialogue,” Oleg Ananiev, head of the Rossiya Segodnya Directorate of the CIS Countries said Tuesday.
The agenda of the Koktebel media conference includes discussions on the role of the media in forming public opinion. The issue of security will also be raised, as well as questions regarding new information technologies.
Director General of Rossiya Segodnya Dmitry Kiselev will hold a master class on the current state of the world of media within the framework of the conference.
The Koktebel media conference coincides with the Koktebel Jazz Party which is also scheduled for September 12 – 15. The jazz festival is to become Crimea’s first large-scale international cultural event, according to Dmitry Kiselev.
