MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government has approved a draft scientific and technical program of the Union State (Belarus and Russia) on the development of new high-performance technologies of exploration and use of hydrocarbons, the document published on the website of the Cabinet on Tuesday reads.
"The program provides for the development of information and computing technologies, as well as software for the analysis of geological and geophysical data, the creation of a prototype of a series of specialized high-performance computing systems for the energy sector, on the basis of the Skif supercomputer platforms,” as said in the document.
The program was prepared by the Russian Education and Science Ministry and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The concept of the program was approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Union State on December 12, 2012. According to the plans of both parties, the program is to be implemented in 2014-2017.
