MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow is celebrating City Day on September 6 just like it does every year, but this time the city will hold a giant Charity Fair right in the center of Moscow, with over 50 non-profit organizations exhibiting their projects and selling handicrafts for charity.

"For a long time, I wanted charity funds to have a festival in Moscow that would introduce Muscovites to the work of charity foundations and show that helping people is both important and pleasant because it gives you a lot of positive emotions," said Natalia Tekidis, head of Golfstream Fund for terminally ill people and one of the organizers of the event.

The event will bring together 50 non-profit and charity organizations as well as local residents who want to contribute to charities. Fundraising organizations and foundations will present their projects, organize workshops and sell handicrafts, such as fluffy toys, pottery, knitwear etc. All the funds raised during this event will be donated to charity. The event schedule also includes a bike ride and a race through the historic center of Moscow, and the following streets will be closed to all traffic: Suvorovskaya Square, Samotechnaya Street, Olympiyskiy Prospect, Trifinovskaya Street, Sovetskoy Armii Street, and Suvorovskaya Square. The event is open to all participants. To register, visit the website yopolis.ru and pay a fee of 200 rub.

"The charity fund festival received major support from Moscow residents, and the Moscow Department of Culture got in touch with me and offered to organize the festival, which is now called Dobraya Moskva", Tekidis added. “Dobraya Moskva” means “Kind Moscow” in Russian, which reflects of the main mission of the event – to help others and promote kindness.
