MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) gave lists of captured and missing Ukrainian soldiers to the representatives of the Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) people's republics, the head of the investigation department of the SBU Vasily Vovk told reporters Saturday.
One of the items signed during Friday’s trilateral talks in Minsk was a protocol regarding the exchange of prisoners of war under the “all for all” scheme.
Earlier, DPR’s Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko told reporters that the transfer of prisoners from DNR would be held on Saturday while Kiev will transfer prisoners on Monday.
"Yesterday, members of the self-proclaimed ‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’ were given all the lists that we had of missing soldiers including those made by volunteers,” Vovk said.
Vovk added that the militias took these lists, vowing to compare them with their own in order to exchange information on the matter within a few days. He also said that there is now a common list of names of Ukrainian soldiers captured and missing.
Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council said during a Saturday briefing that the lists were “transferred five days ago to the coordinator of the movement of the release of hostages.”
Lysenko claimed that the process of preparatory measures for the prisoner exchange began the night before.
"The preparatory work started yesterday. Today, we are ready to start the process,” he said.
Earlier on Friday, members of the Contact Group on Ukrainian reconciliation met in Belarus’ capital Minsk to find ways to the solution of the Ukrainian crisis.
The sides agreed on bilateral ceasefire, exchange of prisoners and humanitarian aid.
