The Luhansk (LPR) and Donetsk (DPR) People’s Republics will require a 100 percent guarantee of from Kiev regarding the security of the republics inhabitants and political institutions and infrastructure, LPR’s Prime Minister Igor Plotnitsky told RIA Novosti over the phone on Sunday.

MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - The Luhansk (LPR) and Donetsk (DPR) People’s Republics will require a 100 percent guarantee of from Kiev regarding the security of the republics inhabitants and political institutions and infrastructure, LPR’s Prime Minister Igor Plotnitsky told RIA Novosti over the phone on Sunday.

"We will carefully examine what the authors have suggested regarding the monitoring of the LPR and DPR borders with Russia. The authors of these suggestions are representatives of Kiev. Safety zones on the border of our republics with Russia - what is that? If this is some kind of plan try to take the republic in the blockade again, it will not work. We will require an absolute guarantee for the safety of the population, political institutions and infrastructure of LPR and DPR,” Plotnitsky said.

During the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine in Minsk on Friday, the representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to a ceasefire between Kiev and independence supporters that started at 15:00 GMT the same day. The sides also agreed to the international monitoring of the truce’s implementation, the “all to all” prisoners of war exchange and humanitarian aid access to the combat zone.

Ukraine has been engulfed in violent internal conflict since mid-April, when Kiev began its military operation against independence supporters in the southeastern regions of the country. According to United Nations’ estimates, over 2,500 people have been killed and more than 6,000 wounded since the start of the offensive.
