MOSCOW, September 10 (RIA Novosti) – Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the search for the remains of passengers killed in the MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine has to be completed by winter.
“The objective is to narrow the search of the remains of the victims, it has to be completed before winter, because when winter sets in it will be very difficult,” Hussein told journalists in Moscow.
“We want transparency, we want justice for MH17. Concentrate on finding out the truth, that would mean that I have done justice to the families,” he said.
Speaking on the investigation into the tragedy, he said expecting a conclusion only after two months is “premature.” “We just want to get down to the truth,” the minister added.
On July 17, a Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine’s eastern region of Donetsk. None of the 298 people on board survived the crash.
The Dutch Safety Board issued a preliminary report on the investigation into the crash of the MH17 plane on Tuesday, saying that the analysis of flight data recordings did not reveal any new information on the cause of the accident.
