Russia’s Gazprom has not reduced gas deliveries to Slovakia, maintaining the regular level of supply, the company’s spokesperson Sergei Kupriyanov said Thursday.

MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia’s Gazprom has not reduced gas deliveries to Slovakia, maintaining the regular level of supply, the company’s spokesperson Sergei Kupriyanov said Thursday.

“Delivery volume of Russian gas to Slovakian SPP company in September remains at the level of 12 million cubic meters per day,” Gazprom’s representative said.

Earlier on Thursday, Slovakia's electricity and gas supplier SPP claimed it was receiving only 90 percent of Russian gas transited through the Ukrainian territory.

“SPP Company registered on Thursday, September 11, as well as on the previous day, a decline of Russian gas deliveries at a level of around 10 percent. However, this will not have any influence on the reception of gas by all Slovakian clients … since the company has sufficient reserves of fuel”, company’s spokesperson Peter Bednar told RIA Novosti Thursday.

Also on Thursday, Poland’s PGNiG oil and gas company said the supply of Russian gas to the country fell by 45 percent and informed the European Commission of the reduction. On Wednesday, Gazprom said gas deliveries to Poland stood at a normal level of 23 million cubic meters daily.

In June, Russia introduced prepayment mode of gas deliveries to Ukraine over its $5.3 billion debt and warned that it could reduce gas supplies to Europe shall Kiev siphon off gas transited to Europe through its territory. European Commission Vice President Gunther Oettinger said Monday the date of trilateral gas talks between Moscow, Kiev and the Commission, supposed to resolve the gas crisis, would be determined by the end of the week.
