MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) – The NATO military exercises scheduled to take place in Ukraine later this month may nullify all progress toward reconciliation in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday.
“Such actions indeed may indeed fuel tensions and disrupt the progress that has been emerging in the Ukrainian peace settlement,” he said.
Despite the civil conflict in southeastern Ukraine, the United States plans to go ahead with its annual Rapid Trident military exercise, scheduled to take place in western Ukraine and expected to involve up to 1,000 servicemen from NATO countries and other US allies.
