LONDON, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - A pro-Scottish independence MP, Angus Robertson, has claimed that there is an "utter deceit" at the heart of the NO campaign, after a senior Conservative backbench MP, Christopher Chope, warned of a "bloodbath" by Conservatives at Westminster who oppose more powers for Scotland in the event voters reject independence.

"The Westminster revolt against any more powers for Scotland is up and running, and exposes the utter deceit at the heart of the No campaign that additional powers would follow a No," Robertson said in a statement. "Tory MPs are promising a 'bloodbath', and are itching to slash Scottish spending - which would do huge damage to our National Health Service," he added.

Robertson"s comments came after all three UK party leaders pledged on Tuesday, to offer as yet unspecified additional powers to Scotland if voters back their call for a No vote in a referendum that will take place September 18.

If the majority of people vote for independence, Scotland will secede from the United Kingdom on March 24, 2016.
