SOCHI, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia, Ukraine and EU will hold talks September 26 in Berlin, this date suits every party, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told the reporters.
"On September 26 in Berlin," Novak said answering the question about the date of the trilateral gas talks between Russia, Ukraine and EU.
"Our position remains the same: the November-December [ed. 2013] debt-servicing, partial debt-servicing for May and April, in total approximately two billion dollars," the Minister noted.
Moscow and Kiev are still unable to agree on the price of Russian gas for Ukraine. Russia proposes to establish a temporary price of 385 dollars per thousand cubic meters for the period of consideration of the mutual claims of Gazprom and Naftogaz.
In mid-June, Russia's Gazprom introduced a prepayment system for gas deliveries to Ukraine due to Kiev's massive gas debt of around $5.3 billion. On September 3, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatsenyuk said Kiev offered Russia two options on gas price: $300 per 1,000 cubic meters during the summer and $380 during the winter. In response to Yatsenyuk's statement, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Moscow would only agree on a price of $385 per 1,000 cubic meters, and would resume cooperation on the issue no sooner than the debt is repaid.
