BRUSSELS, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit New York September 22-25 to participate in UN General Assembly session, the alliance's press release said.
"During his visit, the Secretary General [Anders Fogh Rasmussen] will meet with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. On Tuesday, September 23, the Secretary General will deliver a speech at the United States Military Academy at West Point," the press statement reads.
New session of UN General Assembly opened on Tuesday in New York. During the year the General Assembly is scheduled to consider about 170 issues on the agenda - from international security and counter-terrorism to the situation of indigenous peoples and multilingualism in society.
September 24 to October 1, in the framework of UN General Assembly session a general debate will be held. The session will bring together about 90 heads of state, 50 prime ministers and deputy prime ministers, 40 foreign ministers.
