WASHINGTON, September 22 (RIA Novosti) – US President Barack Obama is concerned about Friday’s incident, in which a man, carrying a knife, managed to enter his residence, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Monday.
“He [Obama] did indicate, as you would expect, his family lives in the White House and so he is obviously concerned by the incident that occurred on Friday evening,” the spokesman said.
Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, of Copperas Cove, Texas, got inside the front door of the White House, carrying a knife on Friday night after jumping over a gate around the compound and sprinting more than 70 yards across the North Lawn. The breach triggered an evacuation of parts of the White House.
Less than 24 hours after Gonzalez's arrest, a second man drove up to a White House gate and refused to leave. A Secret Service spokesman identified the man as Kevin Carr, 19, of Shamong, New Jersey.
Barack Obama and his family were not in the residence at the moment of the incidents.
