TEL AVIV, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Israel has shot and killed two Palestinians suspected of kidnapping and murdering three Israeli teenagers in June, a spokesperson for Israeli Defense Forces Lt. Col. Peter Lerner wrote Tuesday on Twitter.
"In overnight #IDF operation Amer Abu Aisha & Marwan Qawame murderers of #EyalGiladNaftali were killed in exchange of fire," the official said in a tweet.
He added that Israeli Special Forces carried out the operation against the "Hamas terrorists",
The kidnapping of three young Israelis, which Israel said had been performed by the Hamas movement, has triggered a massive search operation on the West Bank of the Jordan River, involving Israeli military. The bodies of the teenagers were found in late June. Later, rocket strikes on Israel, conducted from the Hamas-controlled region, led to an Israeli military operation on Gaza, which has left more than 2,100 people dead.
