MOSCOW, September 25 (RIA Novosti) - China and the United States will hold the 15th China-United States Defense Consultative Talks in October, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) announced Thursday.
"15th China-United States Defense Consultative Talks will be held in mid-October in the United States, in accordance with the parties' agreements," MND spokesman Geng Yansheng said in a statement.
The agreement between the US Department of Defense and the Chinese Ministry of National Defense on Establishing a Consultation Mechanism was signed in 1997 by China's former President Jiang Zemin and his counterpart Bill Clinton.
The consultations are usually focused on a broad range of topics: bilateral military relations, the regional security situation, different activities at sea, risks control and other security related topics.
