MOSCOW, September 26 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko in Europe, but the date of such meeting is yet unknown, a Russian president’s aide said Friday.
“Such meeting is possible, this issue is being discussed but without any specific date,” Yuri Ushakov said.
On September 25, Poroshenko said he could meet with Putin in Europe in the next three weeks.
The last meeting between the presidents took place in the Belarusian capital Minsk on August 26 at talks that also involved heads of Russia's Customs Union partner states Belarus and Kazakhstan, along with EU officials.
The two leaders discussed the crisis in Ukraine, humanitarian aid to the country's eastern regions, the flow of refugees to Russia and the possibility of an internal dialogue between Kiev and eastern Ukraine.
