Moscow has once again topped the Europe's tallest buildings list, grabbing the first three places wiht its Moscow Business City towers: Federation Tower, OKO Apartment Tower and the Mercury City Tower.
Moscow has once again topped the Europe's tallest buildings list, grabbing the first three places wiht its Moscow Business City towers: Federation Tower, OKO Apartment Tower and the Mercury City Tower.
Federation Tower is a complex featuring two towers built atop a podium. Tower East is set to be a 97-story structure, 373.7 meters in height. Tower West was completed in 2008; it is a 65-story building which is 242.4 meters in height. Still under construction, Federation Tower East has recently reached a height of 343 meters and topped the list of the tallest buildings in Europe.
The Federation Tower complex will accommodate offices, hotel suites and apartments. Currently, the 61st floor of Federation Tower West houses the highest restaurant in Moscow.

In 2012 the top floors of a Moscow skyscraper which was under construction caught fire, lighting up Moscow’s night sky. However, two firefighting helicopters dumped huge buckets of water on the flames, quickly extinguishing it. No injuries were reported.

The Federation Tower is being constructed at a pace of three stories a month. It is set to be completed and glazed by the end of this year. Next year, it is set to become fully operational.
