SIMFEROPOL, September 26 (RIA Novosti) - Foreign investors are showing increased interest in a number of Crimean projects, from the automotive industry to energy, Deputy Minister of Crimean Affairs Andrei Sokolov told RIA Novosti in an interview Friday.
"Sanctions and the international situation, of course, leave … marks, but at the same time, we hold talks with the European companies that show interest in working in Crimea," Sokolov said.
According to him, investors from many countries, including Italy, Korea, China, Germany and the Czech Republic are interested in various spheres - from automotive industry and tourism to agriculture and energy.
"The issue of sanctions can be solved should there be will and understanding that this project is commercially promising," he added.
Following Russia's reunification with Crimea back in March, the European Union and the United States started imposing sanctions against the country, accusing it of meddling with the Ukrainian internal affairs and violating Ukraine's territorial integrity, a claim Moscow has repeatedly denied.
