MOSCOW, September 28 (RIA Novosti) - 30 hikers were found Sunday in cardiac arrest on Mt. Ontake after a volcano erupted on Saturday just before noon in central Japan leaving about 250 stranded and several injured, BBC reported.
Rescue workers found the 30 hikers near the top of the 3,067-meter (10,062 feet) high Mt. Ontake, located approximately 200 km (125 miles) west of Tokyo.
At least 34 climbers have been injured, among them 12 seriously injured, according to Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency.
