The Russian Union of Volunteers also joined in the mourning. According to their president, Yana Lantratova, the recent events bring increased attention to the situation in Donbas. “This can’t go on the same way. The civil society must demonstrate its stance. We must strive for a further investigation in the crimes, committed in Novorossiya, and punishment for those responsible", she said.

The chairman of the Russian Union of Youth Pavel Krasnorutskiy called to its members and partial youth to attend the event at Poklonnaya gora and "once again underline that these days such a situation is unacceptable, and if this happens, it is necessary to disrupt it at the grassroots".
