The Russian gymnastics team has topped the medal standings with eight gold medals at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Izmir, Turkey. All together, the Russians won 12 medals at the world championship, including eight gold and four silver medals.
The Russian gymnastics team has topped the medal standings with eight gold medals at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Izmir, Turkey. All together, the Russians won 12 medals at the world championship, including eight gold and four silver medals.
Yana Kudryavtseva, Margarita Mamun and Alexandra Soldatova topped the medal standings. On the final day of the competition the Russian gymnasts became world champions in both ball and ribbon disciplines.

Margarita Mamun (above) came second in the individual all-around competition and won a silver medal of the world championship in clubs and hoop routines. Kudryavtseva was second in ribbon routine.
