MOSCOW, September 29 (RIA Novosti) - The world's largest retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc. officially announced the appointment of 30-year old Kevin Systrom, chief executive of the photo-sharing Instagram Inc. to its board Monday to work in the technology and e-commerce committee.
"Kevin's passion and deep knowledge of social media align with our focus to engage customers through our digital and physical channels," Bloomberg reported Wal-Mart Chairman Rob Walton statement on Monday.
Systrom was appointed on September 26 and will remain the chief executive of Instagram, which was purchased by Facebook Inc. in 2012.
