MOSCOW, September 30 (RIA Novosti) - More than 10,000 students from various educational institutions of Bolivia will stage a march in the country's capital on Tuesday, protesting against the use and traffic of illegal drugs, one of the worst problems the Bolivian society is facing today, Prensa Latina reported on Tuesday.
According to Prensa Latina, the anti-drugs march will be led by Bolivian Ministry of Interior with the participation of Ministry of Social defense, country's police and drug enforcing authorities and the United Nations' office on drugs and crimes (UNODC).
In June, the UNODC said that coca leaf cultivation in Bolivia in 2013 fell nine percent from a year earlier.
Despite that, the smuggling of cocaine from the neighboring Peru and the local drug production and abuse remain a problem, seriously affecting the Bolivian society.
Earlier in September, the United States named Bolivia, Myanmar and Venezuela as countries that failed to do enough to comply with international counter drugs agreements over the last year.
