Obama, Modi Discuss Trade, Climate, Counter-Terrorism Cooperation

US President Barack Obama and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi told journalists that their Tuesday talks were devoted to the issues of bilateral trade, climate change and cooperation in a struggle against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.

WASHINGTON, September 30 (RIA Novosti) - US President Barack Obama and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi told journalists that their Tuesday talks were devoted to the issues of bilateral trade, climate change and cooperation in a struggle against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.

Modi stated that for India the problems of the climate change and food security are interconnected. "India supports trade facilitation. However, I also expect that we are able to find a solution that takes care of our concern on food security. I believe that it should be possible to do that," Modi said.

Earlier on Tuesday the White House said that the talks between Obama and Modi were devoted to the strategic partnership between the two states.

Narendra Modi arrived in the United States last week and attended the United Nations" General Assembly in New York prior meeting the US President in Washington.
