WASHINGTON, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - Omar J. Gonzalez, a US Army veteran who allegedly climbed over a White House fence and entered the White House with a knife on September 19, pleaded not guilty to all charges against him at a US District Court in Washington.

Gonzalez said Wednesday that he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and was ordered to stay in jail without bond. Security officials who searched Gonzalez's car found hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

On Tuesday, 42-year-old Gonzalez was charged by a federal grand jury with federal felony of unlawfully entering a restricted building with a deadly weapon, and local Washington D.C. charges for carrying a dangerous weapon outside a home or business and unlawful procession of ammunition.

Gonzalez faces up to 16 years in prison for charges at the federal and local levels.

Gonzalez's plea comes as top lawmakers called for Secret Service Director Julia Pierson to be held accountable for the breach of security and to resign from her post.

In the meantime, Julia Pierson appears to have handed in her resignation on Wednesday.
