MOSCOW, October 4 (RIA Novosti) - Young Russian driver Daniil Kvyat will race for one of the top Formula-1 teams Infiniti Red Bull Racing in 2015 season, after team’s number one racer Sebastian Vettel leaves, a statement on official Infiniti Red Bull Racing website says.
“It's been our philosophy for several years now to back youth and grow our own talent and that's what we did with Sebastian Vettel … Daniil's an exciting talent and prospect and it's an exciting new dawn for Infiniti Red Bull Racing,” Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula-1 Team Principal Christian Horner said as quoted by the team’s official website.
Kvyat said he was surprised by sudden news, but very pleased to join the successful team.
"Obviously Red Bull rely on me. They show certain trust by making this decision, which I really appreciate… This kind of decision is taken because they know what kind of driver I am, and I will do my best to prove them right," Kvyat said to Autosport.com.
Twenty-year-old Daniil Kvyat currently races for Toro Rosso team, which he joined in 2014. Before making a debut in Formula-1, Kvyat became a GP3 Series Champion and a runner-up at the 2012 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.
In 2015, his partner in Infiniti Red Bull team will be Australian Daniel Ricchiardo, who stands at number 3 in 2014 season after winning 3 races this year.
Infiniti Red Bull Racing team got four consecutive Formula One World Constructors' Championship titles in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Austrian team is referred to as one of the best Formula-1 teams at the moment.
