BEIRUT, October 5 (RIA Novosti), Mohamed Alaeddin - Islamic State militants have attacked on the military post of the Lebanese movement "Hezbollah" in the mountainous region of Brital, which is on the Syrian-Lebanese border, the TV channel LBC reported Sunday.
According to the TV channel, the fighters of "Hezbollah" thwarted the militants' attempts to enter the Lebanese territory.
At the end of September, a suicide bomber exploded himself near the military post of "Hezbollah", which is located east of Lebanon near the border with Syria. The terrorist attack killed three fighters on duty at the moment.
The Lebanese movement "Hezbollah" has been fighting terrorist groups since the very beginning of the Syrian crisis, which, according to UN estimates, has claimed the lives of 200,000 people. The volunteers of the Lebanese movement sided with the Syrian government in the battle against extremism. They continue to be active both on the territory of the adjacent state and on the Syrian-Lebanese border, pushing back any attempts by militant groups to enter the hinterland of Lebanon, including those by the Islamic State.
The IS, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), has been fighting the Syrian government since 2012. In June 2014, the group extended its attacks to northern and western Iraq, declaring a caliphate on the territories over which it had control.
