TALLIN, October 5 (RIA Novosti) - Heavy military equipment of the First Brigade of the First Cavalry Division of the US Army has arrived in Estonian town of Tapa, said the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces.
According to the statement by the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces, released on Saturday, nine US Stryker armored fighting vehicles, eight Bradley fighting vehicles and other US military equipment have arrived in Tapa to take part in the three month long drills.
Three Stryker 18 ton wheeled armored transport vehicles were delivered to the Estonian town earlier in September.
The Baltic states and Poland are to receive four squadrons with a total of 600 servicemen of the First Brigade of the First Cavalry Division of the US Army. They will replace the paratroopers of 173d Airborne Brigade currently at the site.
Following Crimea's reunification with Russia in March 2014, United States and NATO has been increasing their military presence close to Russia's borders, specifically in the former Soviet Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and in Poland. Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern over such actions.
