MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) – The United States is considering enhanced screenings of passengers at airports, as a second Ebola-infected patient arrived in the United States on Monday, reports NBC News.
“All options are on the table for further strengthening the screening process here in the United States”, a federal official said, as quoted by CNN.
After Ashoka Mukpo, a freelance cameraman who contracted the virus while covering the outbreak in Liberia, arrived for treatment in Nebraska Medical Center, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said they were considering enhanced passenger screenings at major U.S. airports, according to a CDC official.
Those arriving into the United States would have to undergo a thorough series of questions and have their body temperatures measured for any warning signs before they could step onto the American soil, NCB News said.
The Ebola Outbreak has already killed more than 3,400 people across West Africa.
