MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) – An Uzbek national has been convicted of spreading extremist material and sentenced to three years in prison, the Bukhara regional court told RIA Novosti.
The man, Zhondullo Shaimanov, joined a group of jihadists while working in a town of Bronnitsy, in the Moscow District. After coming back to his native Bukhara, the man started to spread extremist audio lectures recorded on his mobile phone among his friends and acquaintances.
According to the court, Shaimanov attended a jihadist group’s secret meetings.
