MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - Increasing anti-Semitism in Europe and Australia is leading the Jewish diaspora to purchase real estate in Israel, Haaretz reported.

“The phone here hasn’t stopped ringing since the end of the summer. Many of those we get calls from in England simply feel that they don’t have a future there anymore,” the newspaper quoted property consultant Rebecca Wolman from Israel as saying Tuesday.

The unprecedented hike of interest in acquiring real estate in Israel, according to the newspaper, has been caused by the latest armed conflict in Gaza, urging Jews from Europe and Australia to consider obtaining property in Israel.

The newspaper noted that instead of holding celebrations of the upcoming Sukkot holiday, Jews living abroad will probably commit their time to the buying of real estate in Israel.

Wolman, the property consultant the newspaper spoke with, claimed that she had been swamped with inquiries by "200" percent more compared with the last year, with the majority of them coming from London Jews. According to Wolman, Tel Aviv being the first choice of many.

Israeli estate agencies keep being inundated with inquiries from Australian Jews, too, leading to partnership being currently established between Israel's leading real estate, Anglo-Saxon, and a local Australian agency.

“They were the ones who approached us because of the many Jews there who are now interested in gaining a foothold in Israel,” Anglo Saxon chief executive Adina Haham told Haaretz, adding that many French Jews have been spending their August holidays in Israel so that to get possession of real estate.
