STOCKHOLM, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Children's author Artur Givargizov, illustrators Sergei Liubaev and Igor Oleinikov and children's book bus "Bumper" have been nominated for the 2015 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Aard officward (ALMA), the awe reported Thursday.
The book bus "Bumper" circulates around schools, libraries and orphanages in Moscow and other Russian cities showing and selling the best books for children.
The list of 197 candidates from 61 countries was published on the award's official website. The laureate will be announced on March 31, 2015.
"The list of nominees is a wonderful directory of active authors, storytellers, illustrators and reading promoters of various kinds. I hope the list will be distributed and discussed in every conceivable context with a connection to children's and young adult literature and storytelling," ALMA press service reported Chairman of the award jury Boel Westin as saying.
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was founded by the Swedish government in 2002, to commemorate the death of Astrid Lindgren, a prominent writer of children's fiction , who died at the age of 94 that year. The award is presented every year to authors, illustrators, oral storytellers and reading promoters regardless of their nationality.
