WASHINGTON, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - The Bank of Russia and the National Bank of Ukraine have agreed to press ahead with consultations on bilateral cooperation, a spokesperson for the Russian central bank told RIA Novosti early on Saturday.

On Thursday, Russia's central bank chief Elvira Nabiullina met with her Ukrainian counterpart Valeria Hontareva at the annual IMF meeting in Washington, US, where they "discussed the current state of financial markets, the country's banking systems and cooperation in the field of banking supervision," the spokesperson said.

"It was decided to continue opinion exchange and consultations on matters of mutual interest," the RIA Novosti source in the Russian central bank added.

From Wednesday till Friday, G20 ministers of finance and central bank governors flocked to the US capital for the IMF-World Bank annual meetings. Russia's Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, who attended the talks, told journalists that Ukraine's economic crisis was not on the agenda.
