LA PAZ, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Up to 200 international observers will come to Bolivia on Sunday to monitor the general election, a member of the Supreme Electoral Court said.

"We expect the number of missions' participants to reach 200. At the moment, we can only talk about 174 monitors who have already received international accreditation and are on their way to the country," said Chuquimia Dina, a member of Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Court, which is an electoral body.

Bolivian President Evo Morales stressed earlier that the presence of monitors at the October 12 elections was crucial for their transparency, and urged all volunteers to be active in fulfilling their duties.

"It is way better when all international organizations and institutions are present. We have never objected to this, we have nothing to hide," Morales said.

On October 12, some 6.2 million Bolivians will go to polls to elect a new president, a vice president, 130 members to the Chamber of Deputies and 36 senators. Bolivia's socialist leader Morales, 54, is largely expected to win the third term as the Latin American nation's next president, extending his time in the office until January 2020.
